RTR-NetTest 3G/4G/5G IPv4/6 4.14.1

The RTR-NetTest (in German: RTR-Netztest) is an app developed by the Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications (RTR). It provides a comprehensive analysis of your internet connection, measuring not only the speed (upload, download, ping) but also various quality parameters (VoIP, unmodified content, web page, transparent connection, DNS, ports).

Upon launching the app, you are greeted with informative symbols displaying your connection type (mobile data or WLAN), background data transmission, IP address, and location. The RTR-NetTest can be initiated by tapping the start button. Following the speed test, QoS (Quality of Service) tests are conducted. Progress bars visualize the ongoing QoS tests. Once all tests are completed, you can access the results and additional detailed information in the summary section. The menu on the left-hand side allows easy navigation to home, history, map, statistics, help, information, and settings.

The RTR-NetTest app offers various features:

• Retrieving individual test results and synchronizing them across different devices for convenient browser viewing (via "history")
• A map view showcasing all test results with filter options based on measurement parameters, statistics, internet providers, and devices (via "map")
• Displaying the five most recent tests along with statistics on results for internet providers and all used devices/browsers. Users can apply filters by quantile, measurement parameters, and measurement period (via "statistics")
• In-depth analysis of quality parameters such as signal strength, connectivity on different ports, modifications during data transmission, and transmission duration for a reference web page
• A traffic light rating system to assess the measurement results

Moreover, the RTR-NetTest supports various connection types including 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS, HSPA), 4G (LTE), and 5G(NR) for both IPv4 and IPv6. The test results are available as open data, which can be accessed at https://www.netztest.at/en/Opendata.
